Founded in 1985 under the name KammerMusekVer\u00e4in L\u00ebtzebuerg (KMVL)<\/strong>, the ensemble now celebrates 40 years of musical commitment<\/strong>. In 2019, with the release of the album Hommage \u00e0 Schumann<\/em>, it adopted the name Kammerata Luxembourg<\/strong>, marking a new chapter in its artistic development.<\/p>\n

Over the years, Kammerata has stood out with landmark productions such as the cycles Musique et Espace<\/em>, Helmut Lachenmann \u2013 Portrait of a Composer<\/em>, Fins de si\u00e8cles 999\u20131999<\/em>, Iberia<\/em> (dedicated to Spanish chamber music), and Dialogues fascinants<\/em>. The ensemble also presented staged concerts like Portrait Louis Spohr<\/em>, Portrait Franz Schubert<\/em>, and Pierrot Lunaire<\/em> by Sch\u00f6nberg, in coproduction with the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre National du Luxembourg.<\/p>\n

Kammerata Luxembourg is also deeply involved in projects for young audiences and families, including productions such as Brundib\u00e1r<\/em> (Hans Kr\u00e1sa), The Carnival of the Animals<\/em> (Saint-Sa\u00ebns), or Der 35. Mai<\/em> (Violeta Dinescu), in collaboration with institutions like the Philharmonie Luxembourg and the Conservatoire du Nord. This dynamic continues today with inclusive and interactive productions such as D\u2019Faarwemonster<\/em>, Till Eulenspiegel \u2013 einmal anders!<\/em>, and the recent creation Kichegerabbels,<\/em> developed in collaboration with the KoplaBunz collective. Designed for children with special needs, this inclusive musical theatre piece \u2014 a rarity in Luxembourg \u2014 combines music, movement, and object storytelling.<\/p>\n

As a flexible ensemble, Kammerata performs in a wide variety of formats, from trios to nonets, and its repertoire links contemporary works to music from the classical and romantic periods. Kammerata is also an organiser of concerts, most notably for the MusicDays Vianden, a multidisciplinary festival held since 6 years, and now a cornerstone of our seasonal programming.<\/p>\n

Contemporary creation is a noble mission that lies at the heart of Kammerata\u2019s identity. To date, the ensemble has commissioned 13 original works from Luxembourg-based and international composers. In 2025, Kammerata will present the world premiere of Un certain Docteur Ox \u2013 Une fantaisie musicale d’apr\u00e8s Jules Verne<\/em> by Olivier Dartevelle at the Philharmonie Luxembourg, a piece commissioned by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the ensemble.<\/p>\n

Kammerata regularly collaborates with renowned international musicians, while maintaining strong ties with professional artists based in Luxembourg. The ensemble also plays a key role in the decentralisation of cultural offerings, presenting concerts across the Grand Duchy and the Greater Region (Saar-Lor-Lux), often in partnership with venues such as CAPE \u2013 Centre des Arts Pluriels in Ettelbruck, Th\u00e9\u00e2tre Esch, Mierscher Kulturhaus, Kinneksbond Mamer, and Kulturhaus Niederanven.<\/p>\n

Kammerata Luxembourg\u2019s activities are financially supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.<\/p>\n
