MusicDays Vianden | Baba Yaga | Nomad The Group
Nov
2022
The third edition of MusicDays Vianden opens in memory of the renowned US composer George Crumb. In his Eleven Echoes of Autumn – composed in the experimental 1960s – he exploits the special timbre possibilities of the instruments.
In the 2nd concert, which takes place in the Trinity Church, Arvo Pärt’s Fratres is heard, framed by Mozart’s church sonatas KV 328 & 336 and CPE Bach’s organ concerto Wq. 35. Here the Estonian composer exemplifies his Tintinnabuli style of composition, which is influenced by his “mystical experiences with church chants”.
In Baba Yaga, Nomad The Group presents the Slavic fairy-tale figure in a sound cloak of Balkan, Latin American and Klezmer music. For children aged 5-9, the storytelling concert Sila Zauriloku will be really exciting when it is said: Can Sila save the magic forest?
At the end of the Viander Music Days, the well-known pianist Joseph Moog, together with the musicians of the KL, will play the magnificent piano quintet by César Franck.
